NAUTiLUS KORU Stonemat

NAUTiLUS KORU design minimum size is 140 x 52 cm as the pattern is large and I need enough space to have stones to fill within the white pattern.

Order lead time is 3-6 weeks to create due to the complexity of making a mat this large requiring 17kg-35kg of stones, many of them polished and creating a complex pattern. The mat also needs to sit for 4 days after completion before shipping.

NAUTiLUS KORU design where the stones are random pattern within the outline of a Nautilus shell pattern in the shape of a Koru. The shape outline is in natural white stones along with grey and polished grey stones. The polished stones are the same grey stones that make up the koru but each stone has been carefully polished in a polishing tumbler for 100+ hours to get them to a high gloss shine!

This is a very hard and time consuming mat to create. No stones are cut or changed so I have to find the exact sized stone to fit in each gap and some gaps are very small.

Each is a custom hand made Bespoke stonemat made to order.

At 140cm x 52cm it will weigh around 17kg and at 200cm x 75cm weight around 35kg. It takes hundreds of hours to hand select the stones, polish and lay out a mat this large in such a complex pattern.

No two mats are the same as each riverstone on the mat is unique and the intricate woven design of the stones is unique to each stone mat.

The stones are placed very close together so there is very minimal gaps between the stones and they all interlock like a zig saw puzzle. This is a real art to achieve this where only the right sized stone will fit in each place. I have mastered the skill of having the smallest gaps possible over more than 20 years of making stone mats. No stones are cut to fit and no made made stones are used. These are all natural river stones.

PRE-ORDER TIMEFRAME:

Many sizes are listed so you can choose the size that best suits your home. We do not keep all these sizes on hand, instead they are custom made to fulfill each order.

For pre-orders allow around 10-20 days for your mat to be custom made before it is shipped for mats 70-90 cm long.

Larger mats over 100cm long can take 21-35 days before shipping so please keep this in mind. The busy time of year Sept-Jan may take longer as I am very busy with orders and I often travel to out of town shows for 3 days at a time.

Note: Each mat needs to sit for 3 days to cure after I make it before it can be packed and shipped.
