Kim Annan Photography

About Me

My name is Kim Annan, and I bring over 30 years of experience and passion for photography. Specializing in landscape and nature photography, I strive to capture the breathtaking beauty of natural scenery and wildlife.

Frequent travel across New Zealand for work inspired me to capture the country’s stunning sunrises, sunsets, lakes, majestic mountains and hoar frosts.

These awe-inspiring moments motivated me to preserve them through my lens.

Through my photography, I aim to ignite a sense of wonder and adventure, encouraging others to explore our beautiful country, support conservation efforts, and appreciate the beauty of our landscapes both within NZ and globally.

Each image I create tells a unique story from my journeys.

Right Place ... Right Time

Photographers often revisit locations to capture the perfect shot under ideal weather and lighting conditions. But sometimes, luck delivers the magic instantly.

More often, it’s about being in the right place at the wrong time—or the right time in the wrong place.

Dramatic skies often appear when I’m not out shooting, proving timing is everything.

Sometimes, capturing the perfect shot requires me to climb into rivers, streams or get into unusual places, as the ideal angle for the composition I wish to achieve isn’t always easily accessible.

I specialize in landscape and animal photography, enjoy macro shots and have a keen eye for shapes and patterns.
